We’re seeking an Electrolysis Research Engineer to join a pioneering organisation committed to reducing the carbon impact of global fuelling. The company’s mission is to make synthetic fuels more accessible than fossil fuels, and they’re rapidly expanding their engineering team to support this goal. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of experimentation and innovation, enhancing efficiency and lowering costs for hydrogen production.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct experiments to increase current density and reduce £/kg H2, focusing on

– Different electrode materials
– Different bonding options
– Different electrode form-factors

  • Develop and iterate on membrane and gasket designs, including material selection.
  • Optimise cell and stack designs for scaled deployment, addressing shunt-current and longevity challenges.

What experience you will need to apply:

  • Experience of managing engineering projects and experiments in a proffesional setting.
  • Bachelor’s or Masters (or PhD) in electrochemical engineering, materials, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Experience of deconvoluting complex scenarios to translate them into actionable steps.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
