If you’re looking for a new challenge where you can use your development skills to help to save lives then this is one for you! One of Bristol’s thriving start-ups is looking for a passionate Full-Stack Engineer to help them build a fully funded medical diagnostic product which will help treat patients with one of the world’s biggest killer illnesses. This incredible solution uses sophisticated machine learning tech as well as a wide palette of languages and tools; they’ll look to you to help shape their technical direction and deliver a game-changing product to market.
*2-3 paid trips to the Bristol office per year.
What skills will you need
What you’ll be doing
Alongside their Lead Developer, you will play a key role in developing innovative, robust, and secure software systems. You’ll contribute to the design, deployment, and optimisation of their software platform, collaborating closely with Scientists, Hardware Engineers, and Bioinformatics and Machine Learning specialists to solve complex challenges. You will be integrating their Python-based machine learning code (alongside their machine learning team) and developing high performance tools, user-facing components/GUI and solutions to store and manage large-scale genomic datasets for analysis.
Within the team you will help to ensure that software meets compliance standards and ISO regulations with requirements traceability, software verification, testing and QA. It’s likely that you’ll also take part in the deployment and scaling of software systems on cloud infrastructure and they’ll look to you to encourage and implement best practices in software engineering tools and techniques, including automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD.
