Junior AI Developer

We’re looking for a Junior AI Developer to join a small but growing AI team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with experienced AI professionals, learning and applying cutting-edge techniques in machine learning and generative AI. You’ll get hands-on experience fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) and optimising AI solutions across text, audio, and video. What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll be involved in developing, fine-tuning, and optimising machine learning models. Your work will acover various AI applications, including text, audio, and video, with a primary focus on LLM fine-tuning. You’ll collaborate closely with a Senior AI Developer and the team lead, contributing to real-world AI projects and helping to improve model accuracy and performance. The first few months will involve a strong focus on evaluating and fine-tuning existing AI models.
You’ll work on optimising traditional machine learning and deep learning models, fine-tuning LLMs for specific business needs, and evaluating model performance using statistical techniques.
Cloud computing will also be an essential part of your role, as you’ll be working primarily with Azure, though some exposure to AWS may be beneficial. Writing efficient, production-ready Python code will be a key responsibility, as well as working with SQL databases to extract, process, and analyse data.
Beyond the technical work, you’ll be encouraged to stay up to date with the latest AI research and experiment with new techniques to enhance AI solutions. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects from day one, developing both your technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
 
What experience you’ll need to apply:

• Proficiency in Python for AI/ML development (ideally 18 months+ of commerical expereince) 
• Experience working with LLMs and Generative AI (text is essential; audio and video are a bonus)
• Hands-on experience fine-tuning AI models
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS etc.)
• Basic SQL knowledge for data extraction and analysis
• Strong statistics knowledge
• A research-driven mindset with a problem-solving approach

• Bonus for experience deploying AI models in production
• Familiarity with MLOps tools and best practices is a bonus
• Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.) is a bonus

 
What you’ll get in return:
A fully remote role with a salary of between £30,000-£40,000 (DOE), and a supportive team environment with leadership opportunities.
