I am looking for a Junior Polymer Engineer to join an exciting company as they expand out their team into the UK. They are focused on developing sustainable biopolymer alternatives to plastic packaging. As a Junior Polymer Engineer, you will research, develop, and prototype biopolymers in our state-of-the-art lab, contributing to commercial-scale manufacturing across various industries.
What you’ll be doing?
- Research and develop biopolymer formulations.
- Test polymer properties (mechanical, thermal, tensile, etc.).
- Identify suitable production processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with polymer scientists and manufacturing teams.
- Prototype and design production processes.
- Maintain detailed records and liaise with industry partners.
What are they looking for?
- Knowledge of extrusion, injection moulding, and films.
- Strong technical skills and hands-on problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to learn and innovate in a research-driven environment.
- Experience in materials testing and polymer science (preferred).
- Master’s level in Material Process Engineering or Polymer Science (preferred).
- Work experience beneficial but not required (training provided).
