Fast-growing travel business with international offices are looking for a Lead Drupal Developer to help them reach new heights with their multi-award winning service.  This BCorp certified market-leader are looking for someone to join their digital marketing team of 10 to help drive technical innovation and enhance their already hugely successful Drupal website.  As a business they have a genuine focus on responsible tourism, helping customers to travel as sustainably as possible and supporting international renewable projects to drive down carbon.

What skills you’ll be needing

  • Significant experience developing and managing Drupal websites.
  • PHP.
  • HTML/CSS, JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of Google Analytics, paid search, SEO.
  • Project leadership experience.
  • Experience of managing/coaching/mentoring junior develoepers.
  • Able to balance perfection and experimentation, thinking on your feet and improvising.
  • Enthusiasm for travel, excellent communications skills.

What you’ll be doing

As Lead Drupal Developer you will be developing their existing Drupal website for use across all of their brands as industry leading platform.  Working amongst a team of Digital Marketing specialists you will be asked to give technical direction on all aspects of the development lifecycle and selecting appropriate tools etc. A key part of the role will be translating business requirements into technical specifications for features or system design aligned with business goals from a variety of stakeholders.
Other duties:

  • Mentor and guiding junior team members.
  • Keeping abreast of industry developments and driving innovation.
  • Write high quality code and uphold coding standards, code reviewing and implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Alongside the Head of Digital, oversee project timelines for new features and enhancements.
  • Ensure the site performs optimally with minimal downtime and fast page load times, keeping technical debt low and ensuring an excellent user experience.
  • Design and implementation of the website’s architecture.
