Scammers are targeting jobseekers!

We’re seeing an increase in scams aimed at people looking for jobs, with scammers pretending to offer real opportunities. These fraudsters might reach out via WhatsApp, email, social media, or text, tricking you into sharing personal details or money for non-existent roles.

Here’s how to spot a scam:

  • You get an unsolicited job offer with a promise of guaranteed income or a role with little effort.
  • The job seems too good to be true, with no interview required.
  • The profile seems fake or lacks proper contact details.
  • The message asks for personal info or an upfront payment for job materials, accreditation, or processing fees.
  • You’re asked to transfer money for someone else, which could be part of money laundering.
  • You’re contacted by someone using a generic email address (such as @hotmail, @outlook, or @yahoo.com).
  • The message contains spelling errors or strange phrasing.

We never ask for any payments from jobseekers. If you think you’ve been contacted by a scammer pretending to represent ADLIB or feel unsure about a job opportunity, please double-check with us. Message us at hello@adlib-recruitment.co.uk or call us on 0117 926 9530.

If you think you have been a victim of a job scam, contact Action Fraud   https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ and let your bank know if you’ve shared any financial information.
